«Every Russian man must make his own big Caucasian tour. It is in the tradition of Russian culture»
Full-length feature documentary - the artist's journey along the entire northern slope of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range from the Caspian to the Black Sea – discovers the Caucasus the way it has never been viewed before.
The two years’ trip of the photographic team along the cities and auls, tourist trails and uncharted territory - by land, water, snow, glaciers, and even by air - now give every viewer a chance to feel like a pioneer of wild and wonderful, welcoming and secret, beautiful and stern Caucasus Mountains.
The expedition routes passed through the territory of all Caucasian regions: Dagestan, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, Adygeya, Stavropol and Krasnodar territories.
The expeditions were moving from East to West: started in Derbent, passed through the highest point of the Caucasus - Elbrus and Bezengi - and finished on the narrow strip of land under the rock ledge on the Abrau peninsula, where the Caucasian Range begins. The entire route was running along the mountainous part of the Caucasus and down to the plains.
